Alicia Moy became President and Chief Executive Officer of Hawai'i Gas in May 2013. Her vision for the company focuses on fuel sourcing and diversification, strategic growth and operational performance. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Macquarie Infrastructure Company, a $2.7 billion corporation that owns, operates and invests in a diversified group of infrastructure businesses in the United States. Ms. Moy oversaw several Macquarie-managed utility companies and has extensive leadership experience in corporate strategy, funding and organizational management. She worked on the acquisition of Hawai'i Gas in 2005 and 2006, and has served as a member of the Hawai'i Gas Board of Directors since 2011. Ms. Moy began her career in the Investment Banking division of Morgan Stanley in New York before joining the Macquarie Group in 2001.
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Thomas K.L.M. Young is responsible for overseeing the development of the Company's liquefied natural gas (LNG) initiative, a key component of its strategy to further diversify its fuel supply and provide Hawai'i with clean, cost-effective and reliable gas energy. He leads a dedicated team of managers, contractors and consultants experienced in LNG and major infrastructure project development. Additionally, he is responsible for overseeing the Company's renewable natural gas initiatives, gas supply, commodity risk management, and operations pertaining to its synthetic natural gas refining plant on O'ahu and its propane supply statewide.
Senior Vice President, Business Development & Corporate Affairs
Joseph (Joe) Boivin, Jr. oversees new market development, corporate and government relations. Joe is focusing on developing opportunities and markets for renewable natural gas (RNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to help reduce Hawaii's carbon footprint, lower the cost of energy, and accelerate the use of renewable energy. Prior to joining Hawai'i Gas,he was a Senior Associate in the Honolulu office of Booz Allen Hamilton, a global strategy and technology consulting firm.
Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary
Nathan "Nate" Nelson is responsible for legal and regulatory affairs. Nate provides legal counsel in the areas of contracts, litigation, regulatory interface with the Public Utilities Commission, insurance and real property. He is also responsible for providing corporate compliance as the Company's secretary as well as managing the Company's corporate records. Nate is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in real property and corporate law. He is an honors graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai'i, holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska and is a member of the Hawai'i State Bar Association.
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Robert E. Sterzenbach is responsible for overseeing the Company's finance, accounting and information services departments, working closely with the Senior Executive Group in driving management information initiatives and internal and external reporting of operations. Prior to joining the Company in June 2010, he was the managing director of a commercial development company in Australia. Rob began his career as a CPA for Moss-Adams LLP, a regional accounting firm based in Washington State.
Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Communications
Jill Tokunaga is responsible for overseeing the company's statewide sales strategy and initiatives, and for the Company's marketing and corporate communications. Before joining the Company in October 2008, Jill was Branch Sales Manager for the global telecom giant Sprint Nextel. As Sprint Hawaii's sales manager, she was recognized for her ability to grow the telecom company's general, corporate, and government wireless and wireline business. She was the recipient of the Sprint Nextel President's Club sales award for eight years.
Vice President, Human Resources
Kenneth T. Yamamoto is responsible for developing, implementing and managing policies, procedures and programs covering labor relations and negotiations, benefits and pensions, employment and staffing, salary administration, payroll, employee relations and employee assistance programs. Throughout his career at the Company, Ken has been our labor liaison working to effectively address the increasingly complex area of labor relations, federal and state employment guidelines and regulations, employee rights and equal opportunity.
