To support Oahu Ordinance 22-17 for building benchmarking, Hawaiʻi Gas will be releasing anonymized yearly aggregated whole-building energy consumption data to be reported to and published by the City and County of Honolulu.
Hawaiʻi Gas adopted minimum data aggregation thresholds to protect customer confidentiality. These thresholds establish a minimum number of customer accounts to be aggregated, and a maximum percentage of total energy usage from a single customer account in the building to reasonably maintain customer confidentiality. To release yearly aggregated data for commercial properties, there must be at least 4 metered accounts and no single metered account may represent more than 50% of the aggregated consumption. For residential properties, there must be at least 6 metered accounts and no single metered account may represent more than 50% of the aggregated consumption. Hawaiʻi Gas will only release yearly aggregated data in connection with the Better Buildings Benchmarking program.
For requests regarding specific meter usage or account information, Hawaiʻi Gas will continue to follow our current privacy policy which requires the requestor to be an authorized party on the account to receive information.
